About the event
- Time: 10.00am Location: 1 Woodend Beach Road
Planting nectar plants is exceptionally beneficial for Tui birds, as they heavily rely on nectar as a primary food source. The 1,200 Tui Tucker plants, represent a concerted effort to enhance the Tui habitat and ensure their sustained well-being. Nectar-rich plants not only provide a vital food source for Tui but also play a crucial role in supporting their breeding and overall population health. The initiative to involve NZMCA members in the planting day on either the 17th or the 20th of April 2024 offers a unique opportunity for community engagement and collaboration. By participating in this event, members contribute to the creation of a flourishing environment for Tui birds while recognizing the invaluable support provided to the Trust, fostering a sense of shared responsibility for the conservation of these iconic New Zealand species.
