This field guide has been developed by Te Kōhaka o Tūhaitara Trust in order to enhance the environmental and educational opportunities available at the Tūhaitara Coastal Park, and to augment many of the alternative community outreach programmes currently instituted by the Trust. - The Biota Node project, or partnerships with local schools for example. It features 39 colour botanical drawings of various native flora and fauna - all of which can be found within the Coastal Park - accompanied by relevant identification, behavioural, and cultural information to assist users in the discovery of different species, and in placing those species within the broader narrative that centers on sustainability, biodiversity, environmental cooperation, and cultural worldviews.
